Consortium

The NGID project is unique in bringing together all research areas involved in dermatology, as well as collaborating with key players in industry and interacting with governmental and regulatory bodies (Dutch Medicines Evaluation Board, Central Committee on Research involving Human Subjects, Guideline Committees, National Healthcare Institute, Netherlands Enterprise Agency). Thus far, innovation in dermatology has been hampered by the lack of large-scale collaboration between dermatologists, pharmaceutical scientists, biological scientists and technological scientists. In NGID we achieve this by uniting expertise and bringing all the pieces of the puzzle together.

The Netherlands is ideal to achieve geographical connectiveness and for only dealing with a single authority and legislation. During the project, the different domains will get to know each other, closely collaborate and fully understand each other’s role and added value. This process is stimulated and facilitated by an inclusive communication strategy. After the initial phase of NGID, the consortium will continue their collaborations and will become a structural partnership, leading to continued and world-class scientific and technical R&D (Research & Development). The R&D will be characterized by a highly efficient exchange of knowledge and technology, and enhanced multidisciplinary problem solving.
